Natural Gas Delivery Reaches 458,000 Housing Units

Natural gas was delivered to 458,000 housing units, reaching 40% of the total number of customers across Egypt during the year, according to Wael Gowayed, Chairman of Egypt Gas Company, Al Ahram reported.

The company estimates natural gas delivery by 1,616 housing units per day, which saves about 8.5 million butane cylinders as well. In line with the state’s policy to support low-income areas, 45% of the natural gas delivery was set towards Upper Egypt and the Nile Delta, reaching about 4.7 million customers.

Additionally, the company’s petroleum and civil projects achieved an unprecedented record amounting to EGP 563 million, an increase of about 20% from the previous year, which diversified Egypt Gas’ income sources.

Egypt Gas has made a huge leap in the field of investments to maximize its return and to maintain income sources, which includes having a 25% share in a polyethylene pipes production factory used for natural gas operations, and water delivery.
