Ministers of Egypt and Saudi Arabia Discuss Joint Efforts to Advance Mining Industry

At the end of the International Mining Conference of Saudi Arabia, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi held a meeting with Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim AlKhorayef to study ways to develop cooperation, exchange experiences and share practices in the mining sector between the two countries.

Badawi praised the importance of the International Mining Forum as a global platform that brings together all strategic partners under one umbrella to discuss the latest developments in the mining industry.

Additionally,  the Minister explained that the two countries share common mining characteristics, as he referred to the successes achieved by the project to develop and modernize the sector in terms of developing the mining investment climate through important reform measures at the legislative and financial levels, pointing to the most prominent projects and bids that were put forward for investment in the search for gold and minerals in Egypt.

Also, Badawi reviewed the main pillars of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategy. For his part, Bin AlKhorayef stressed the Kingdom’s keenness to develop joint cooperation with Egypt in the mining sector and work together to develop the mining industry in the region as well as highlight the development and sustainability of practices to attract investors’ attention.
