The first solar-driven hydrogen electrolysis facility in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) will be carried out in collaboration with DEWA, Expo 2020 Dubai, and Siemens, Zawya reported citing Emirates News Agency.
Ahmed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and Chairman of the Expo 2020 Dubai Higher Committee, paves the way for Dubai’s new project, which will be built at DEWA’s outdoor testing facilities in the Research and Development Centre at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
“Our aim is to make Dubai a model of energy efficiency and safety,” Al Maktoum said.
This project comes in line with UAE’s green economy initiative that aims to identify new energy resources and provide sustainable power.
Paving the way for this innovative project is an important milestone that brings the Expo’s sub-theme of sustainability to life and creates a meaningful legacy for generations to come, Al Maktoum added.
