Media Production City to Consider Solar Energy

Egyptian Media Production City negotiated with the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) in order to construct a solar power plant. The plant in negotiation will have a capacity of 300KW and a total investment of EGP 17m, reported Daily News Egypt.

Sources at the Media Production City stated that the production city is studying AOI’s financial proposal for the project. It plans for the solar power plant to be connected to the national electricity grid under Egypt’s Feed-in-Tariff (FiT) system. The management of the Media Production City will further purchase a battery-charging system in order to run electric poles at night.

The sources explained that AOI is one of the best companies working in the field of solar energy. The company executed several projects with capacities of up to 500KW. AOI eyes expanding local products through the production line of solar cell assembly.

AOI also developed five plants in the North Cairo Electricity Distribution Company with a capacity of 15KW for each plant. It also constructed a plant in the Canal Company for Electricity Distribution (CCED) with a 25KW capacity.
