A man is suing his employer after being injured on the job in Egypt.
Robert Scott Patterson, a Houston native, filed suit in Harris County District Court on Oct. 1, claiming Atwood Oceanics abandoned him at a hotel in Egypt when they should have assisted him in getting proper medical attention for his work related injury.
In his suit, Patterson alleges that after he was injured working on Atwood Oceanics’ oilrig, he was taken ashore and left in an Egyptian hotel without receiving proper medical attention, which exacerbated his condition.
It was the responsibility of the company, he claims, to have provided him adequate medical care.
Patterson is being represented by Houston attorney Arthur J.
Gonzales. He is seeking compensatory and punitive damages, as well as court costs.
