The Minister of Finance, Mohamed Maait, said that the new fees that will be imposed on octane and diesel will not increase their current prices, according to Al- Ahram gate.
He added that this will happen due to calculating the changes in the octane and diesel prices throughout the last period elaborating that due to this changes there is an ability of price reduction for citizen and at the same time save money for the public treasury.
During the meeting of the plan and budget committee in the House of Representative, Maait pointed out that liter of octane value has declined by EGP 0.5 on two phases saying that” we try to keep diesel prices and this adjustment will provide additional revenue for the public treasury”.
The Minister added that the petroleum prices will move in line with the global economic growth rate especially as the economic growth rates are negative in the world countries.
