Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has separated and extracted light crude oil from Jurassic production, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) plans to export the first shipment of this grade of oil at the end of June.

“This will be the first export of light crude oil by KPC, which will be added to the other types of Kuwaiti oil available for export,” Minister of Oil Bakheet Al-Rashidi stated.

Kuwait light crude has a low sulphur content, while the Jurassic natural gas field is in northern Kuwait and contains sour natural gas and light crude oil, Egypt Oil and Gas previously reported.
