The offshore technology player Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies has won its first contract for its latest 3D visualization technology, SIM Reservoir.

SIM Reservoir is a revolutionary visualization tool for analysis of petroleum reservoir simulation models.

Kongsberg said  in a release that they booked an order of 14 licenses for the technology with a company in the Middle East, “One of the largest national oil companies.”

Kongsberg did not give any further details about the deal or the financial aspects.

“Following the contract with the Middle East (national oil company), we’re already in talks with several major UK operators and are very encouraged by the initial interest we’re receiving in SIM Reservoir,” said Kongsberg executive Mark Baldwin.

“SIM Reservoir is expected to see significant growth within the UK market following a £2 million investment in sophisticated 3D visualization technology last year.”
