Iraq Signs MoU with Total for Large Projects

The Iraqi Ministry of Oil has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Total company for cooperating in establishing large projects, a press release reported.

The MoU was signed between the Iraqi Oil Minister, Ihsan Abdel Jabbar, and Total’s CEO, Patrick Pouyanne, during his visit to the Basra’s oil and gas fields.

Abdel Jabbar said that this MoU came as a coronation for a series of discussions and negotiations started six months ago, aiming to reach optimum cooperation for achieving the ministry’s plan of developing the oil sector especially through investing in natural gas projects, clean energy and infrastructure.

For his part, Pouyanne expressed his pleasure for this cooperation, affirming that Total is looking forward to achieve more collaborations and partnerships with Iraq. He wished to finalize several formats of the investment contracts during the upcoming period including natural gas investments and its conversion to be useful energy.
