Iran to Start Oil Production from Azar Joint Field

The CEO of Oil Industries Engineering and Construction (OIEC) Group, Gholamreza Manouchehri, announced that the first phase of production from Azar joint oilfield will start soon, SHANA reported.

In an interview with SHANA, he elaborated that 21 out of 28 days of the performance test of the final crude oil production has been successfully completed in Azar field.

Manouchehri said, “Considering the 97% progress of the joint field’s development plan, the first phase of this project is being operated and will be officially inaugurated soon.”

He noted that the developers of the field have secured production of 65,000 barrels per day (bbl/d) of oil adding that the production from this field began in 2016 with 15,000 bbl/d.

Manouchehr mentioned that the contract for developing Azar field was signed in September 2011 with OIEC, Ahdaf investment company, and National Oil Company, adding that this project is funded by National Development Fund of Iran and Ahdaf Company with EUR 1.4 billion.
