Iran Reinforces Northern Gas Network

The Iranian National Gas Company (INGC) announced that progression of its 170 km Damghan-Neka northern pipeline hit 65% and it will help reinforce gas transmission to northern regions of the country and result in network stability, Zawya reported. The INGC will support gas network in the north from three different points, according to Islamic Republic News Agency.

The first point, Meyami-Dasht, reinforced gas network of Golestan province and the second one was in Rasht.

The third point, Damghan-Neka, is regarded as a difficult project since it is implemented in forests, mountainous areas and impassable roads.

Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company’s Managing Director, Hassan Torbati, stated that the enhancement of gas transmission system is to prevent incident such as the 2007-2008 gas cut off by Turkmenistan.
