Iran North Refineries Company to Increase Refining Capacities to 584,000 bbl/d

Iran’s North Refineries Company has announced plans to increase its refining capacities in addition to developing and modernizing them with the goal of becoming one of the leading international companies in the refinery sector in Iraq and the Middle East, according to Atta Aliwi Hussein Al-Hamdani, the director of the company’s project management department.

“The Salah al-Din 1 and Salah al-Din 2 refineries will have a capacity of 70,000 barrels per day and 70,000 barrels per day, respectively, while the North Refinery will have a capacity of 150,000 barrels per day and the North Refinery with a capacity of 20,000 barrels per day, and the refinery will be Salahuddin 3 with a capacity of 70,000 barrels per day,” said Al-Hamdani.

Moreover, the company is working on increasing its refining capacities through external refineries. Al-Hamdani stated that the Project Management Department, in cooperation with the North Refineries Company’s General Manager, is currently implementing a plan to increase refining capacities in the current and upcoming years.

“The Project Management Department, working with the North Refineries Company’s General Manager, is carrying out the company’s plan to increase refining capacities during the current and upcoming years,” said Al-Hamdani, adding that “the combined refining capacity of the current and added North Refineries Company will be 584,000 barrels per day, which is an unprecedented refining capacity in the refining sector.”

He has mentioned that the company began preparing the requirements for the establishment of the FCC unit consisting of four basic units to maximize the production of improved gasoline.
