Iran Increases Oil Output at South Azadegan

Iran increased its oil production from South Azadegan by 30,000b/d after being stuck in the 50,000b/d range for years. Operator of the Field’s Development Project, Touraj Dehghani, stated to Shana News that production from the field reached 80,000b/d range on the 16th of April 2017.

The field’s early production started according to the Iranian plan and it will reach 110,000b/d in its first phase. Dehghani expects the anticipated production level to be reached by June 2017.

Meanwhile, National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC)’s CEO, Ali Kardor, stated to Financial Tribune that total investments of infrastructure projects in the southern oil and gas areas reached around $65m.

Kardor stated, “Plans call for investing $90m in services and infrastructure in oil producing regions. Despite financial constraints, $65m has been spent in the regions.”

The investment comes as pre rules that part of revenues from selling hydrocarbon deposits should be reinvested in public facilities and services in the oil and gas producing cities.
