The coming phase would witness an increase of oil and gas exploration works throughout Egypt, said Petroleum Minister Sameh Fahmy.

He added that the Mediterranean sea, the Delta and the Western Desert have promising oil prospects according to international reports.

The minister made the remarks after receiving a report from Geologist Mohamed Refaat Khafagy, the petroleum ministry first undersecretary, on the outcome of his talks with Tom Walter, the Chairman and Managing Director of ExxonMobil Gas & Power Marketing (EMGPM) in Egypt.

Walter voiced keenness on getting acquainted with the available investment opportunities in Egypt in the field of oil and gas exploration, according to the report.
