A fuel pipeline between Zawiya and Tripoli was closed this week by a group of armed individuals, according to the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Reuters reports.
The closure slowed the flow of oil to Tripoli and Libya’s western mountain region, according to Reuters’ source at the NOC.
NOC did not identify the group that seized a key control room and shut off the flow of oil.
Libya’s oil and gas industry has suffered numerous setbacks over the past month as militant groups have seized and closed pipelines across the country, disrupting production and reducing oil and gas revenues.
