GPC: new discovery in the Gulf of Suez

The General Petroleum Company (GPC) announced a new discovery, Nobia, in the Amer area in Gulf of Suez. The results showed that it’s expected that the daily production of Amer-1, 2 will rise from 2000 barrels per day to 10,000 barrels per day after finalizing the first stage of development operations on the new discovery. It is planned too that new wells to be drilled in the area of discovery of the 65 million barrels reserves.

That came in a report published by the ministry, showing that it placed the first well on the production line with a 1025 barrels per day, and conducting a plan to dictate the tank spread to the east side of the well.

The report added that the commercially importance of the discovery goes back to the unique position of the field, as it’s located near the shores of Gulf of Suez.

It’s worth mentioning that Amer field was discovered 41 years ago.
