Ganoub El Wadi Petroleum Holding Company (GANOPE) conducted a field tour in the Gulf of Suez and the Eastern Desert for senior officials from its subsidiaries following directives from Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, to monitor safety, exploration, and production activities.

The two-day tour, organized by Ashraf Bahaa El-Din, the company’s chairman, included the participation of GANOPE’s vice presidents and assistants for agreements, exploration and production, and occupational health and safety, as well as company heads, exploration managers, and operations and projects managers.

On the first day, the delegation visited the fields of Petrogulf, a joint venture of GANOPE, to review new projects and exploration and production plans. Officials also visited Petronfinity to monitor the drilling of the Fin-5 development well, ensuring that work complied with safety, occupational health, and environmental protection standards. Additionally, the tour included a visit to PetroAmir’s drilling rig to complete drilling of the Amir-6 well to increase production, and a visit to the Raneem field operated by GHP.

The second day featured a visit to Magawish Company’s site to monitor the drilling of two new wells to maintain production levels. The delegation also visited Esh Al-Malaha Company (Eshpetco) to follow up on preparations for seismic survey projects and the wells planned to be drilled in the second quarter of this year. Officials also monitored the commencement of a 1.4 MW solar power station installation.

The tour concluded with a joint technical workshop with Petromalak and GHP to exchange technical expertise on various activities and projects, and to discuss production methods from both conventional and unconventional reservoirs.

Earlier, in August 2024, GANOPE officials conducted an inspection of their Eastern Desert production sites, including fields operated by  Eshpetco and PetroGulf. The inspection focused on reviewing safety protocols and emergency plans to ensure operational efficiency and worker safety. Officials also examined production and oil processing facilities, as well as flare gas utilization stations aimed at generating electricity for operations.
