Fahmy discusses mutual cooperation with the World Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE)

Eng. Sameh Fahmy, Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Abdel Galil Al Khalifa, President of the World Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) for the Middle East region discussed mutual fields of cooperation between the Egyptian Petroleum society and SPE, particularly in the domain of exchanging expertise in the whole value chain of the oil and gas and petrochemicals.
The meeting, held in Cairo was attended by Eng. Reda Mustafa, President of the General Petroleum Company, as well as the Head of the branch of the World Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Eng. Mamdouh Mahfouz, a board member of the SPE in the Middle East region, stated that the Egyptian Minister asked for the increase in the Society’s activities in Egypt in collaboration with the Egyptian Petroleum Society which participates in organizing the annual Conference of Drilling technologies, which will be held for the first time in Cairo, Egypt on the 23rd of October this year.
This meeting comes within the framework of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the World Society of Petroleum Engineers this year, where its board of directors’ meeting was held in Cairo, for the first time since its establishment. It is considered one of the largest international petroleum associations comprising 73 thousand members from 156 States.
