During Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS 2023), ExxonMobil Egypt held student training workshops seeking to boost its social impact by building the capabilities of Egyptian youth. This came as part of its efforts to help support and develop the sector in Egypt.

ExxonMobil global leaders took part in a panel addressing the rise of gas and LNG during the Strategic Conference Global Business Leaders Session, and another one on the evolving role of a CFO as a catalyst for digital transformation during the Finance and Investment in Energy Conference.

On this occasion, Amr Abou Eita – ExxonMobil Egypt’s Chairman & Managing Director, said “We are proud to sponsor EGYPS for the sixth consecutive time, it is one of the most important events organized annually in the oil and gas sector. This is a testament of our commitment in transferring global knowledge and enriching local expertise.”. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the company’s employees who volunteered to transfer their practical experiences to students; further adding to their knowledge and developing their practical skills.”

Meanwhile, Youssef Hafez, Board Member, Public & Government Affairs Manager of ExxonMobil Egypt, said “The company exclusively held for the first time a training workshop presented by a team of global ExxonMobil geoscientists to 40 university students. The training covered geoscience exploration methods and techniques used to identify subsurface opportunities. It also focused on introducing students to ways of applying their skills to hydrocarbon exploration.”

In addition to being a diamond sponsor of EGYPS 2023, ExxonMobil Egypt was the headline sponsor of the Young Professionals Program (YPP) and the Youth Engagement Program (YEP) attended by 450 university students targeting exchanging opinions, meeting with young professionals from the industry, and sharing viewpoints with senior representatives of the energy sector and top executives from the industry.

The Youth Engagement Program, attended by 200 high school students from different schools, served as a platform to ignite a spark of interest, create a connection between high school students and the oil and gas industry, and introduce them to future career opportunities. The program tackled several experiential and edutainment zones including engineering, robotics, cyber security, artificial intelligence. A group of young ExxonMobil Egypt leaders also held motivational Youth Talks with the students.

Additionally, ExxonMobil Egypt organized a field trip to its lubricants oil blending plant, located in the 10th of Ramadan Industrial City, for university students, with the aim of providing hands-on experience and technical expertise.
