Enoc Updates Executives in Tune with Fuel Subsidy Reforms

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, was appointed Vice Chairman of the Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc) board, reported Emirates 24/7.

A whole new board of directors has been appointment, the company announced. The other new board members are Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh, Director-General, Department of Finance, Government of Dubai, and Ahmad Butti Al Muhairbi, Secretary-General, Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, who will join Hussain Hassan Mirza Al Sayegh, Deputy Chairman, Oilfields Supply Centre Ltd., Ahmad Sharaf, Chief Executive Officer of Dutco Energy and Chairman of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange, and Dr. AbdulRahman Al Awar, Director-General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.

According to Zawya, Al Tayer replaces Ahmad Humaid Al Tayer, the UAE’s former UAE Minister of State for Finance and Industry. Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, however, is still the Chairman of the Board.

This administrative shakeup came after Enoc’s announcement last month that the company will open more retail petrol stations after the removal of fuel subsidies.
