Eni plans to start drilling the tenth well at the Zohr natural gas field during January 2019 at a cost of $300 million, a source told Al Borsa.
The new well is expected to produce 200 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) of natural gas in January 2019.
Drilling the well will take around two months, the source noted, adding that preparations are currently under way.
Production from the ninth and tenth wells will be linked to the sixth gas processing plant, which is currently under construction.
The ninth well was completed in November 2018 and is currently closed pending the completion of the processing plant.
Eni plans to complete the 400 mmscf/d capacity plant during the Q1 of 2019.
