Emirates Nuclear Status Attains Global Recognition

The chief executive of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (Enec), Mohammed Al Hammadi, has been appointed to the World Association of Nuclear Operators’ (Wano) Atlanta Centre (AC) governing board, reported The National.

This makes him the newest member of the governing board, an appointment he describes as an “honour”.

According to Trade Arabia the appointment follows a unanimous vote at the board’s recent meeting, placing him alongside a panel of 19 AC governing board members drawn from countries like the US, South Africa, China, Brazil, Canada, Romania and Mexico.

An Enec statement added that this posting counts as a vindication of the UAE’s high standards of safety, security and performance and Enec’s continued collaboration with the global nuclear community.
