El Molla Takes Part in the “Regional Geopolitics: An Era of Volatility” Session at CERAWeek

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has participated in a discussion panel titled “Regional Geopolitics: An Era of Volatility” during his attendance at CERAWeek.

The session witnessed discussions on the challenges faced by the energy industry during the current period especially the efforts for emission reduction, preserving the environment, and reaching to zero-emissions in parallel with securing an aspect of energy needed to keep the global economic growth as well as to adapt fast transition towards the green energy.

The session also highlighted the ways to confront these challenges and the key role which the industrial sector can play by using its technological solutions. The session included several energy ministries and officials.

For his part, El Molla affirmed the importance of international cooperation to face the challenges of securing energy resources and supply sustainability in parallel with keeping the environment safe while seeking to accomplish energy transition goals.

He noted that the petroleum sector is implementing several initiatives to reduce emissions at the petroleum sites in cooperation with foreign partners. El Molla also emphasized the importance of cooperation between the governments and the private sector in accelerating the development of natural gas resources as the cleanest fossil fuel. The minister also stressed the significant role of technological solutions in this regard.
