The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, held talks with the CEO of Chile’s Enap Sipetrol ,Marcelo Tokman, in the presence of Consul of Chile in Cairo , Regional Director of Enap in Egypt, Eng. Sayed Rizk, First Undersecretary of the Ministry for Gas Affairs, and Undersecretary of the Ministry for Conventions Enapand Exploration, Geologist Ashraf Farag, Petro Press reported.
During the talks, El Molla has reviewed the company’s activities in Petroshahd concession area in the western desert, which is currently producing about 18000 b/d. He also discussed future plans of drilling more private wells after completing the work at the crude oil pipeline from Petroshahd fields to the treatment plant to avoid transferring production by trucks.
In addition, El Molla reviewed the new gas discovery in Ras Qattara , where the company is drilling new wells for evaluation.
Tokman said that there is convergence of views between Enap and the Ministry, which creates a strong desire to expand the company’s investments in Egypt by participating in international bids offered by the petroleum sector or through the acquisition of existing companies.
