Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has participated in a ministerial roundtable during the first day of the 3rd International Mining Conference hosted by the city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which continues until January 11th.
The roundtable aimed to discuss strengthening international cooperation in the production of strategically important minerals, which are involved in the transformation of the energy sector to modern technology, highlighting the potential of this major mining region.
This occasion witnessed discussions and the exchange of ideas and experiences between government representatives, including ministers, high-level officials, international organizations at the United Nations, trade associations, businesses for mineral producers, as well as non-governmental organizations interested in sustainability and community development.
The roundtable further aimed to lay the foundations for the sustainable development of the metal industry in the world and exploit the region’s enormous potential, in addition to building capabilities and making the metal industry a major driver for achieving global economic and social development.
