Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has outlined the major contribution the Co-operation Petroleum Company (Copetrole) and Misr Petroleum have made in securing citizens’ needs of fuel, in addition to the needed mazut for electricity and needed petroleum products at suitable prices.
This came during his attendance of the general assembly meeting of the two companies to review and approve the planned budget for them of the fiscal year (FY) 2024/25.
The minister hailed the upgrade carried out to the fuel and services stations as well as the main and subsidiary warehouses, in addition to contributing to the national project to expand the use of natural gas in cars as fuel by adding this activity to the stations’ activities.
El Molla explained the importance of digital transformation and modern technologies that have been used in recent years as tools for tightening control and accurate and real-time monitoring for the movement of distribution and circulation of petroleum products from shipping stocks to places of consumption.
This is besides measuring and determining the size of the actual fuel stocks in warehouses and stations, including the Automatic Tank Gauging system (ATG), the fuel transport fleet vehicle tracking system (GPS) and the electronic system to monitor the movement of distribution of petroleum products from warehouses to points of sale.
Moreover, the minister urged that these developments should continue to keep pace with modernization efforts and provide privilege services to the consumers.
