El Molla: EGYPS to discuss Oil, Gas Industry’s Accomplishments

Under the patronage of the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek EL Molla, announced that the fourth edition of Egypt Petroleum show (EGPYS 2020) will be held on February 11-13, 2020, under the slogan ‘North Africa and the Mediterranean: Delivering the Energy Needs of Tomorrow,’ according to press release.

EGYPS 2020 is going to discuss several topics related to the transformation of Egypt into a regional energy hub, the development of the exploration and production (E&P) activities, as well as refining and marketing activities. Moreover, the conference will discuss as well the health, safety, and environment (HSE) activities, the role of women in the sector, and the youth empowerment to prepare them to be the next generation of leaders.

El Molla added that the conference is an important window to shed light on the sector’s accomplishments and unprecedented developments, in addition to showcasing the ministry’s plans and road maps for the future.

For his part, Cristopher Hudson, DMG Chairman, the company organizing the event, said that EGYPS will see a great contribution this year through the participation of more than 450 exhibiting companies from 14 countries including Germany, India for the first time. He added that the conference will witness 30,000 participants, an increase of 20% compared to 2019, and more than 270 speakers.

The conference will hold 36 technical sessions, 10 strategic sessions, seven sessions on the role of women in the sector, seven sessions on financial and investment aspects, six sessions on HSE, four strategic roundtable sessions, in addition to discussing 869 research papers.

El Molla’s announcements came during a press conference to highlight the features of EGYPS 2020 and its targets. The press conference held in presence of a number of the sector’s leaders and IOCs’ Chairmen.
