Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, stated that the Ministry is intensifying the research and exploration work in marine areas, especially after the recent discoveries in the Mediterranean and the Nile Delta, a press release to Egypt Oil&Gas informed.
This came during the general assembly of the Petroleum Marine Services (PMS) chaired by El Molla to discuss the results of 2016. Announced by the PMS’ Chairman, El Sayed El Badawy, the most important achievements included the maintenance and development of the company’s marine units to raise their efficiency.
The First Undersecretaries of the Ministry and Chairmen of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) were also present in the assembly.
El Molla stressed on the fact that a huge portion of the Ministry’s concentration should be shifted to supporting marine petroleum activities to help them improve the performance of its units and to help them keep up with the pace of implementation of marine petroleum projects.
Furthermore, the minister highlighted the importance of training the human capital in the petroleum sector, so that they would be qualified enough to face the expansions of the oil and gas industry all around the country.
