Egypt’s Gas Consumption Rises to 1,765 BCF

Vice Chairman for Operations & Natural Gas Grids told Egypt Oil & Gas (EOG) that natural gas local consumption increased during 2014/2015 to reach 1,765 BCF (average 5,000 MMSCFD). While Egypt’s Natural Gas daily production is only around 4,000 MMSCFD leaving a gap of about 1,000 MMSCFD; forcing EGAS to make up the shortage by issuing a tender for 45 cargoes of LNG to be distributed on a span of 15 months. Only 12 international companies bid on the tender.

Wait for Egypt’s complete gas profile published in October.
