Egypt’s Gas Production declines to 4.15 bcf/d

According to EGAS’s annual report the daily production rate of natural gas declined to 4.15 bcf, in comparison to 4.25 bcf last month, Daily News Egypt reported.

Egypt’s gas production rate declines naturally by 1.2 bcf per year,  the monthly decline, however, is estimated at 100 mcf. It is important to note that total compensatory wells connected to production lines since 2014 provide around 700 mcf annually.

The report expected that domestic production of gas will increase by 2017 with the beginning of connection between the wells of the North of Alexandria project and the Zohr field in the Mediterranean Sea.

Production is set to increase to nearly 400 mcf/d starting from October 2017 until December 2018, and production rates will increase again to 550 mcf/d in January 2019 until the end of the year.
