Egypt’s Butane Imports Increase 19% Y.o.Y

Egypt’s butane imports increased 19% year-on-year (Y.o.Y) between January 2017 and January 2018, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

Statistics published by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) reveal that the country imported 260,800 tons of butane in January 2018, up from 219,200 in the same month in 2017.

This comes despite the slight decrease in Egypt’s butane consumption by around 0.22% Y.o.Y to 405,600 tons in January 2018, down from 406,500 tons in January 2017.

Meanwhile, Egypt’s butane production rose by around 9.13% to reach 159,000 tons in January 2018, compared to 145,700 tons in January 2017.

Egypt’s imports of butane grew by around 10.7% in one month, standing at 235,600 tons in December 2017.
