Egyptian Petroleum Sector Advances Digital Transformation, Strategic Partnerships

The second day of EGYPES 2025, marked the signing of several agreements that focused on digital transformation, natural gas, and capacity building.

The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) has signed a cooperation agreement with CISCO, an international technology leader, to establish a unified data center in the petroleum sector, aligning with the EGPC vision in achieving digital transformation and benefiting from cloud computing for reducing the operation costs and support decision-making by providing the necessary information and data security.

The agreement was signed by Salah Abdel Kerim, CEO of EGPC, and Mohamed Kamel, CEO of Cisco Egypt, in the presence of Iman Wafy, Assistant CEO of EGPC for Information Technology & Telecommunications.

EGPC has also signed several cooperation protocols with Nalco Water Downstream aimed at boosting operational efficiency and advancing digital transformation in the oil and gas sector. This protocol aims to provide technical support for ongoing and new projects related to water source assessment, water recovery, recycling, and ensuring compliance with environmental standards. The cooperation also focuses on optimizing energy consumption and reducing emissions.

Meanwhile, Enppi has signed a cooperation agreement with Global technology leader, AVEVA to strengthen strategic partnerships and cooperation in technical consulting and software systems in the oil and gas sectors. Moreover, Enppi has also signed with AVEVA a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at training Enppi’s staff using the latest technologies and applications in their training programs.

Additionally, Wael Lotfy, Chairman and CEO of Enppi, signed a cooperation agreement with Mostafa El-Bagoury, CEO of Siemens Egypt, with the aim of strengthening strategic partnerships and exchanging of expertise in the field of digital transformation and industrial operating mechanisms related to the gas, oil, and energy sector, in addition to specialized training programs.

Wael Lotfy, Chairman and CEO of Enppi, has also signed a cooperation agreement with Tamer Abul Azm, Executive Partner managing IBM Consulting in Egypt. It is aiming at enhancing digital transformation in the oil and gas sectors in Egypt and the Middle East.

Furthermore, Wael Lotfy, Chairman and CEO of Enppi, and Khaled Ibrahim, CEO & Managing Director of Egyptian Maintenance Company (EMC), have signed a cooperation protocol in the field of training services. The agreement aims to study and analyze the training needs of employees across all departments of EMC, develop and implement an annual training plan, and conduct assessments and tests for personal traits and job competencies.

Regarding natural gas, the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) signed a MoU with Romania’s Transgaz, to explore cooperation in natural gas distribution activities building on the MoU signed last October. The Romanian company also explored more investment opportunities in Egypt.

In the field of digital technologies, Petroleum Marine Services (PMS) has signed a tripartite MoU with AVEVA and Micro Engineering Egypt (MEEG) to provide advanced and innovative services including consultancy and installation services, digital transformation such as 3D modeling, Digital Twin technology, and monitoring vessels actual conditions of marine units. The tripartite MoU also includes specialized training programs to enhance technical skills and analytical reporting and smart dashboards to support decision-making processes.

Besides, PMS has signed a cooperation protocol with Misr El Kheir Institution to install clean water pipelines for 700 homes of the neediest families in Edko, Beheira Governorate. The protocol was signed by Amr Badawy, PMS Chairman and Managing Director, and Amal Mobadi, CEO of Resource Development at Misr El Kheir, on the sidelines of the EGYPES 2025.

PMS has also signed another cooperation protocol with the Dar Al Orman Association, one of the leading associations in charitable and development work. It was signed by Amr Badawy, PMS Chairman and Managing Director, and Ahmed El Gendy, the Board Chairman of Dar El Orman Association.
