Egyptian natural gas output has reached 6.8 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d) upon adding production from the West Nile Delta project phase 2 as well as other projects, a source at the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) told Daily News Egypt, according to MENAFN.
The new projects add to the production map, helping Egypt compensate the decline in natural gas fields and boost its output.
The country’s natural gas production is planned to reach 7.5 bcf/d in fiscal year (FY) 2019/20, the source noted.
Egypt’s production has recorded 6.6 bcf/d in September 2018, as a result of the Zohr mega field, Reuters previously reported.
