Egypt to Boost Natural Gas Production by 400 mmscf/d

Egypt plans to increase natural gas production by 400 million standard cubic feet (mmscf/d) within the upcoming three days, said Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum, according to Reuters.

The output is expected to increase due to the growth of production in Giza and Fayoum fields, El Molla noted.

Egypt’s production increased in September 2018, recording 6.6 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d) as a result of Zohr natural gas field.

The Ministry of Petroleum plans to hold an exploration and production (E&P) bid round for the Red Sea within a few weeks, El Molla pointed out.

Egypt’s natural gas production is expected to reach 8 bcf/d during fiscal year (FY) 2019/20 due to completing and operating natural gas development projects, El Molla previously announced, according to Egypt Oil & Gas.
