Egypt has transported 4.6 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas for exports during fiscal year (FY) in 2020/21, according to Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS)’s annual bulletin petroleum products’ means of transportation and natural gas in Egypt 2020/2021.
Natural gas transports reached a total of 66.7 bcm in 2020/21, which include 62.1 bcm for the local market and 4.6 bcm for exports.
Meanwhile, the total transported quantities by petroleum products means of
transportation indicates that transportation grew by 5.6%, reaching 91.2 million metric tons in 2020/21, from the 86.4 million metric tons recorded in 2019/20, after excluding the 64.1 million metric tons via the Sumed line in 2019/20.
Additionally, total transported amounts of petroleum products, including crude oil, petroleum products, condensates, and gas stoves, using petroleum pipelines has reached 59.8 million metric tons in 2020/21, a 1.2% increase, compared to 59.1 million tons in 2019/20.
Total quantities transported via railway reached 325,300 metric tons, while lorries transported 22.5 million metric tons of petroleum products during 2020/21. Moreover, the volume of petroleum products and crude oil in leased coastal tankers amounted to 8.6 million metric tons in the same FY.
