Egypt set to pump up volume

Egypt expects to boost its oil production from 705,000 barrels per day to 735,000 bpd within three months, Oil Minister Sameh Fahmy said.

Fahmy also said the ministry was seeking to review the price of natural gas exports to secure more revenues, Reuters quoted the state-run Middle East News Agency as saying.
He has said the country plans to increase its oil output by 100,000 bpd to 800,000 bpd in 2008 by developing recent discoveries in the Gulf of Suez and the western desert.
Production has declined from peak levels of close to one million bpd in the mid-1990s.
