Egypt’s electricity production from wind farms across Gabal Zeit and Zaafarana rose to 1000 MegaWatt (MW), sources at the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy stated, according to Amwal Al Ghad.

The ministry seeks to boost production capacity from wind farms through new projects such as the 250 MW generation project that operate by 3 companies.

Alternative energy sources’ production is increasing gradually as the ministry takes steady steps to achieve an energy mix, whether through implementing solar or wind projects, or hydro-electric power, which has a current production capacity of 2,800 MW.
