Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, met with Albert G. Dole, Cote d’Ivoire Ambassador to Egypt, in the presence of Moataz Atef Undersecretary of the Ministry for the Affairs of the Minister’s Office and the Technical Office and the official spokesperson for the Ministry, as they discussed means of bolstering mutual cooperation in oil, gas and mining fields.
During the meeting, it was agreed to establish a joint working group to explore available investment opportunities and potential areas of collaboration. The group will also develop a clear work program, including meetings and field visits to oil, gas, and mining sites in both countries.
During the meeting, Badawi highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation between the petroleum sector and the Ivorian side in various petroleum fields to benefit both sides.
Badawi stated that Egypt has the expertise and skills in the fields of oil and gas and is capable of implementing many important strategic projects, especially in the fields of infrastructure and logistics, by taking advantage of the distinguished political relations between the two countries.
The Minister further noted that Egypt participates in the meetings and activities of the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO) and supports its efforts to benefit the African peoples and local markets.
Badawi pointed out that Petrojet is already implementing an important strategic project in Côte d’Ivoire, and there is a possibility of many companies from the petroleum and mining sectors participating in infrastructure projects, engineering planning, port services, mining, and other vital projects that will benefit both countries.
For his part, G. Dole pointed out his aspiration to deepen cooperation with the petroleum and mining sectors in Egypt in implementing important projects in his country and benefiting from Egyptian expertise in these fields.
