Egypt Petroleum Show 2017 Kicks Off Tomorrow

Under the theme: “Gateway to Egypt’s new oil and gas opportunities, Egypt Petroleum Show “EGYPS 2017, kicks-off tomorrow under the patronage of His Excellency Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of The Arab Republic of Egypt.

Senior government officials will attend the inauguration ceremony. The three-day event will incorporate a wide array of participation from the Egyptian government, headed by Dr. Sahar Nasr, Minister of International Cooperation, Ms. Dalia Khorshid, Minister of Investment, Nabila Makram, Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs and His Excellency, Dr Mohamed Shaker El Markabi, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy.

Speaking on the occasion, His Excellency Engineer Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, said that Egypt is taking significant and brisk steps to improve and formulate an attractive investment climate in oil and gas exploration and production, which will in turn ensure an increase in the pumping of foreign investments in the areas of research, exploration and oil and gas production in promising areas. This will reflect directly on the continuity of energy supplies to secure the country’s needs.

He pointed out that the petroleum sector targets the highest rates of achievement in the next coming years to sustain the optimistic work programmes currently being executed in all fields relating to oil and gas production. The minister also added that the current political and security stability, transparency, along with prospective and promising petroleum opportunities, are regarded to be top contributors to have strongly re-attracted petroleum investments in the past three years.

On his part, Mr. Christopher Hudson, President of Energy Division at DMG Events, expressed his gratitude for the Ministry of Petroleum’s unwavering support for the inaugural Show in Cairo.

The Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS 2017), will run over three days comprising of three dedicated conference tracks: Strategic, Technical and the Women in Energy conference featuring more than 100 speakers from more than 80 countries in addition to three exhibition halls with the participation 8 international pavilions, 320 exhibiting companies, and 10, 000 visitors from 20 countries.

“The Show will feature a pavilion engagement programme that will enable the NOCs to meet with the international exhibitors of the country pavilions and establish relationships for bilateral trade. EGYPS will also host Young Professionals Development Roundtable on the last day, 16 February. The main objective of this is to strengthen young professionals sense of belonging and pride in their own identity and culture and industry and to encourage the pursuit of career choice and development to effectively become Egypt’s future business leaders,” he added.

Mr. Hudson also noted that on-site registration at EGYPS will be donated to Misr El Kheir Foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources affirms EGYPS deep commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) principals.

The inauguration will take place in the presence of global decision makers including Bob Dudley, Group Chief Executive of BP; Claudio Descalzi, CEO of Eni; Sara Akbar CEO of Kuwait Energy Company; Martin Craighead, CEO of Baker Hughes; Marc Benayoun, CEO, Edison Spa and Catherine MacGregor, President of Reservoir Characterization Group at Schlumberger.

Mohamed El Masry, Chairman of Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS); Momar Nguer, President of Marketing and Services and Member of the Executive Committee at Total; Eric Carre, Executive Vice President of Global Business Lines at Halliburton and Marc Benayoun, CEO of Edison Spa will be also among the attendees of the event.

Moreover, Mohamed Saafan, Chairman of the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holdings Company (ECHEM); Frederico Justus, President of Regional Operations at Weatherford International; Basil El Baz, Chairman and CEO of Carbon Holdings; will take part in the EGYPS this year.
