Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) revealed on Friday a bid to import four shipments of diesel oil (768,000 tons), in efforts to provide the required fuel needed to supply electricity stations during the summer.
Another bid was also announced concerning the import of six diesel oil shipments that will be delivered to the Suez port, six shipments that will be sent to the Ain Sokhna port, and a third run of six shipments that will be received at Wadi Feran and Ras Shoqeir.
An official from EGPC said the imported amounts were increased by 15 percent, compared to the same period last year.
In earlier remarks, Petroleum Minister Sherif Ismail said the ministry is committed to providing for all of the electricity stations, adding that the sector’s needs reaches a maximum of 37,000 tons daily.
