Egypt, India in Talks over Industry Trade

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla met with Ambassador of India, Sanjay Bhattacharyya to explore ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries in oil, gas and petrochemicals seeking mutual economic benefits, reported Egypt Oil & Gas.

The minister added that they had discussed investment opportunities in the oil sector, and the possibility of implementing joint projects in oil and gas, petrochemicals, as well as increasing intra-regional trade in petroleum products and crude oil. This move expands ongoing reviewing of India’s existing investments in exploration and petrochemicals, and opens up new areas in these activities.

He noted, that India was a country closely tied to Egypt on political and economical level.

For his part, the Indian Ambassador confirmed his country’s interest in expanding investment in Egypt, adding that it had been agreed that a group of Indian businessmen would meet with officials in the petroleum sector to get closely acquainted with the investment opportunities available in various petroleum activities.
