The Ministry of Electricity announced the cancellation of a tender for supplying 50,000 smart electricity meters that were needed for the South Cairo Electricity Distribution Company, reported Trade Arabia. According to the ministry the cancelled tender was replaced by another that will supply 3m prepaid electricity meters. Ministry sources informed that the five companies who presented their technical and financial offers were informed of the decision to cancel the tender without giving reasons, in accordance with the tenders’ regulations.
