EGPC to Take New Measures for the Transportation, Storage of Fuel

Mohammed Taher, EGPC Vice Chairman for Petroleum Projects and Planning, said that EGPC is taking new measures for the storage and transport of fuel within the provinces to prevent jams in front of fuel stations, reported Egypt Oil & Gas.

Taher added that the petroleum sector is currently establishing projects for the production of high octane gasoline in Assiut province, with investments worth $230m, with $ 193m funding from the Islamic Development Bank. The project is scheduled for completion in 2017, he noted.

He also said there were other projects to upgrade the transport routes for petroleum products in Upper Egypt to link them to other governorates.

Taher made these remarks on the sidelines of the petroleum minister’s inspection tour of the Petrobel’s fields in the ​​Abu Rudeis area in South Sinai.
