EGAS Official Inspects Operations at Disouq Natural Gas Fields

Abd El Hamid Gewaily, Vice Executive Managing Director for Agreements & Exploration at the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) has visited the Disouq natural gas fields affiliated to Disouq Petroleum Company (Disouq) to follow up the production rates and safety system.

During his inspection tour accompanying the workers and leaders of the site, Gewaily reviewed the readiness for drilling two new wells as well as the willingness of Disouq 6-1 well for production operations from the upper layers, preparing the well testing equipment, and increasing production at a rate of 3 million cubic feet per day (mmcf/d).

Additionally, the developments of the implementation of the central treatment plant modernization project were reviewed to accommodate the increase in production from Northwest of Sidi Ghazi wells at a rate of 5 mmcf/d.

Gewaily also reviewed the technological modernization procedures in the control systems which contributed to reducing losses, in addition to maintenance programs to raise efficiency, reducing emissions and rationalizing fuel consumption.

Moreover, they inspected the emissions reduction projects and exploit flare gas. The visit also witnessed evaluation for the health, safety, and environment (HSE) procedures at the fields.

It is worth noting that teams working demonstrated commitment to HSE procedures, recording 3,672 days without any incidents or waste time since the first gas production in 2014.
