State-owned Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) plans to connect 1.2m homes in Egypt to natural gas by the end of June 2016, according to Al Bawaba. Egypt has already delivered natural gas to 850,000 homes in the fiscal year 2014-15.

Khaled Abdel Badie, EGAS Chairman, said the company had made plans to deliver natural gas to 193,000 homes in the Upper Egypt region during the current fiscal year, in addition to a few factories in the same area, Zawya reported.

The delivery of natural gas to homes comes as part of the country’s Household Natural Gas Connection National Project.
