East Delta Reaps EGP 500 MM for 18 Power Stations

East Delta Electricity Production Company (EDEPCO) has allocated EGP 500 million for the maintenance work of 18 gas power stations during fiscal year (FY) 2019/2020, Al Mal News reports.

The company will carry out its operations through its engineers, in addition to international oil companies (IOCs) such as General Electric and Siemens, benefiting from their expertise and utilizing their tools and equipment.

The total generation capacity of the company will reach about 10,400 megawatts (MW) in June, accounting for about 25% of the total energy production in Egypt, the company’s head, Mohamed Abdel Baki, stated.

The company will start implementing its maintenance work from October until May 2020, aiming to finalize work before summer 2020.
