Cheiron Enters Peru with License for Country’s Largest Oil Concession

Cheiron announced its entry into Peru after signing the Block 192 license, the country’s largest oil concession by reserves, according to a statement on October 24.

Cheiron will lead efforts to reactivate and develop the block over the long term, with a focus on operational excellence, environmental responsibility, and creating economic and social value for local communities.

Cheiron reaffirmed its commitment to working with Petroperú and commended PERUPETRO for its efforts to advance the development of Peru’s hydrocarbon resources.

Peru becomes Cheiron’s fourth market, joining Egypt, Mexico, and Romania in its international portfolio.

The expansion supports the company’s long-term growth strategy and complements its continued investment in Egypt, which remains central to its operations and its commitment to national energy security.
