CGGVeritas is launching new seismic technology that will allow operators to increase the number of towed recording cables on a vessel.
CGGVeritas is working together with Norwegian outfit MoreNot to develop a new type of seismic deflector based on design features commonly used in building airplanes, only adapted to operate in water, said the company in a statement.
Tests of the new product are currently underway in Hardangerfjord off Norway.
The technology is provided by Danish company Injector Trawldoors.
