The Egyptian Company for Transferring and Delivering Natural Gas (Butagasco) aims to distribute about 90 million butane cylinders in 2020, compared to 87.8 million in 2019, Amr El Metwaly, Butgasco Chairman and Managing Director stated, according to Al Mal.

Butgasco, which owns 29% of the market share, plans to extend its delivery service beyond Cairo to reach other governorates. El Metwaly explained that the expansion of natural gas delivery reduces butane consumption, taking into consideration that natural gas covers 92% of Cairo’s consumption.

The company has delivered 16.2 million butane cylinders in 2019 alone, collecting revenues of EGP 6.331 billion.

To reach many customers in Egypt, the company began its delivery service in 2013 and included an additional fee decided by governors and the Ministry Of Supply and Internal Trading to be added to the official price of the cylinder.

The company owns 178 warehouses in Egypt and 440 distribution vehicles to transport units from factories to warehouses.
