Bulgarian Ambassador in Egypt Deyan Angelov Katratchev expressed his country’s interest in studying possibility of joining the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF), during a meeting with Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla.
Katratchev said that the EMGF is based on fair principles that will guarantee the benefit of all member countries.
Moreover, El Molla and Katrashev discussed a number of issues concerning the energy cooperation, especially Egyptian natural gas. Katrashev expressed hopes that Egyptian natural gas will be a contributory factor in covering Bulgaria’s energy needs. Additionally, he has been closely watching Egypt’s petroleum sector as it continues to write new success stories and contributes to reinvigorating the economy.
El-Molla highlighted the strong relations between both countries as well as their keenness to strengthen and increase the areas of cooperation.
